En Garde Deer Defense is a family-run business, started by Jeffrey Ardo in 2016. Jeff is a homeowner with a passion to make his yard lush with beautiful green shrubs and colorful plants, but like the rest of Northeast Ohio, deer have made this a challenge. Frustrated with his own damage, he sought out a solution and started his own deer deterrent company. Jeff received extensive training from industry experts and uses a natural deer deterrent formula, licensed in the State of Ohio that’s proven to deliver results.

We have a long yard with lots of landscaping and flowers. Using deer repellents, as soon as it rained and washed off, the deer typically ate everything, We contacted En Garde Deer Defense last year and now the deer only pass through our yard to go into the neighbors’ yards. Since the first Trial Application, they have not touched anything in our yard. We now have all sorts of flowers like we haven’t seen in years. I would highly recommend calling these folks who are also very nice people as well.

I was hesitant to believe that this would work, but I highly recommend them. I have seen my daylillies for the first time in 15 years. I have taken down all my fencing so I can see my plants. I don't know how they do it, but it works!

Tried for the first time and in 2 weeks the deer have not eaten any more plants. Very professional and pleasant. Has now been 3-4 weeks and for the first time in 20 some odd years I actually have flowers, hostas, and all my other plants/shrubs that the deer have not eaten as a delicacy. Have signed on for the next year. Great service and very pleasant to deal with. A few years latter and still have same results and greta service.

The trouble is if they bud or bloom after we've sprayed they are not protected, so a browsing deer might find a few that are edible. If you see that is happening with your day lilies be sure to give us a call about our Buds and Blooms Program. It's an as needed add on designed specifically for plants like day lilies. After having deer decimate my landscaping last summer, I contacted En Garde Deer Defense. The results have been truly amazing!! From when they started last July, and throughout this year, I have had "0" destruction from the herds that roam my neighborhood (spotted 14 deer in my neighbor's yard last week!). dear seem that have got used to your spray and are not bothered anymore. they have mascaraed most of my roses and even local plants.

Response from the owner:Thank you for the feedback, Mr. Moini. We know how frustrating it can be dealing with deer, and especially in the Spring. Your spray techs did not note any damage to your landscaping when they were out on 5/5 and then again on 5/11. It is quite likely that with all of the rain we've been having your roses and local plants have had new growth since then and therefore they were unprotected. Deer are creatures of habit and browsers. They will return to places they've been eating to find out if there is anything new or if it still smells and tastes bad from our spray. You have chosen to just have our Specific Spot Spray service which is not our recommended Full Yard and Perimeter Spray for a yard your size with landscape beds out around the perimeter. This too can be one of the factors contributing to deer your damage. Typically customers will call if they notice deer damage in between sprays. We will request that they send photos of the damage. We will note it on the job for the spray tech and try to schedule a spray tech to go out to asses and possibly re-spray depending on when the next spray is already scheduled. Your next spray is scheduled to be on or about 6/1. If you would please send us photos of the damage. We have put a note on your job for your spray tech.

My wife is an uber gardener. She manages 16 beds on our property. Our property size is 2.87 acres. We are in Bath Township on the Northeasern corner of the township very close to the CVNP. A ravine at the back of our property leads down into the valley. (A deer trail.) She has been spraying to protect our yard from "the giant rodents" for years, always needing to get back out after any type of rain. We took the trial spray on July 23. Today August 12th we had our first spray done as customers and we could not be more pleased. Since July 23 we observed only one faint nibble on one of the trees. And we have had 5 heavy rainstorms in that time period. But the THOUSANDS of hosta blossoms remain intact. We have only seen deer in the yard twice since then. We actually saw them making a big detour around our yard a few mornings ago. En Guard Deer Defense knows what they are doing and we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you give them a try. Thank God for En Garde Deer Defense! I've been a happy customer since they started their business in the area 3 years ago. I live in Aurora and my backyard is all woods. I constantly had to make sure I put something on my plants that smelled horrible and I'm not home much so I had to worry that if it rained the deer would come and chomp on my plants. En Garde is very effective and my investment in new landscaping now is protected.
